Our two day tour to Machu Picchu takes you on one of the most incredible train journeys in the world. Following the route of the Urubamba River all the way to the cloud forest that surrounds Machu Picchu you enjoy the beautiful scenery of the high Andes throughout the course of the Travel.
- Itinerary
Morning: Pick-up from your hotel in Cusco, and travel to Ollantaytambo Station by tourist transport.
12:55 PM - Train to Aguas Calientes: Board the train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes. This scenic journey along the Urubamba River will take you through picturesque valleys and into the cloud forest surrounding Machu Picchu.
Arrival in Aguas Calientes: Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, check into your hotel and enjoy some leisure time in this small town nestled at the foot of Machu Picchu.
Evening at Leisure: You can explore the town, visit local markets, or relax in your hotel.
Accommodation: 1-night stay in a hotel with breakfast in Aguas Calientes
Meals: None included, dinner at your leisure in Aguas Calientes
Morning:
Bus to Machu Picchu: Early in the morning, take the bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu (about 25 minutes).
Guided Tour of Machu Picchu: Upon arrival, take a 2-hour guided tour of the Machu Picchu Archaeological Site. Your guide will provide in-depth information about the history and significance of the Inca city. Explore the Temple of the Sun, Intihuatana, and other remarkable structures.
Free Time: After the guided tour, enjoy some free time to take photos or wander around the site on your own.
Afternoon:
Bus Back to Aguas Calientes: Take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes.
Lunch: Enjoy lunch in Aguas Calientes (not included, but plenty of options available).
Train to Ollantaytambo: In the afternoon, board the Expedition Train back to Ollantaytambo.
Return to Cusco: Once you arrive at Ollantaytambo, you will be transferred to Cusco by tourist transport.
