Machu Picchu Tour Full Day

Our one-day Machu Picchu trip from Cusco is designed to give you the best of the Inca Empire’s lost metropolis in a single day. On this Machu Picchu trip, we provide the finest and most of the Incan citadel, as well as some free time for you to explore on your own. You will be exploring various sections of the citadel with the assistance of our local English-speaking guide. If you wish to climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, please let us know ahead of time so that we can reserve your access and plan your tour properly. To avoid altitude sickness, it is highly suggested that you spend a day or two in Cusco before to the excursion.

Day 1: Cusco - Ollantaytambo - Machu Picchu

5:30 AM - Pick-Up from Hotel in Cusco: You will be picked up early from your hotel in Cusco and transferred to Ollantaytambo Station (about 1.5 hours by road).
6:10 AM - Train to Aguas Calientes: Board the Expedition Train at 6:10 AM from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes. This scenic train ride follows the Urubamba River and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, taking you into the cloud forests near Machu Picchu.
8:00 AM - Arrival in Aguas Calientes: Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, you’ll take the bus up to Machu Picchu (about 25 minutes).
9:00 AM - Guided Tour of Machu Picchu: Once at Machu Picchu, enjoy a 2-hour guided tour of the archaeological site. Your expert English-speaking guide will lead you through key areas of the citadel, including the Temple of the Sun, Intihuatana Stone, and the Main Plaza, while explaining the fascinating history of the Inca civilization.
Free Time: After the guided tour, you will have some free time to explore the site on your own, take photos, and enjoy the incredible views.
Optional Hike to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain: If you wish to hike Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, please inform us ahead of time. These hikes require a separate reservation, and the entrance fees for each are $25 USD.
12:30 PM - Bus Down to Aguas Calientes: After your visit, take the bus back to Aguas Calientes.
1:00 PM - Free Time in Aguas Calientes: Enjoy some free time in Aguas Calientes to relax, shop, or even visit the Aguas Calientes Hot Springs (entrance fee S/ 20 soles, not included).
3:20 PM - Train Back to Ollantaytambo: In the afternoon, board the Expedition Train at 3:20 PM from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo.
5:00 PM - Arrival at Ollantaytambo: Upon arrival at Ollantaytambo, you will be transferred back to Cusco (approximately 1.5-hour drive).
6:30 PM - Arrival in Cusco: Drop-Off at Hotel: You will be dropped off at your hotel in Cusco, marking the end of your unforgettable one-day journey to Machu Picchu.
