Our one-day Machu Picchu trip from Cusco is designed to give you the best of the Inca Empire’s lost metropolis in a single day. On this Machu Picchu trip, we provide the finest and most of the Incan citadel, as well as some free time for you to explore on your own.
You will be exploring various sections of the citadel with the assistance of our local English-speaking guide. If you wish to climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, please let us know ahead of time so that we can reserve your access and plan your tour properly.
To avoid altitude sickness, it is highly suggested that you spend a day or two in Cusco before to the excursion.
03:30 am to 4:00 am pick-up from the hostel; then go to Ollantaytambo train station; we board the train at 06:10 am and then take a train trip of approximately two hours; 8:00 am we will arrive at the Aguas Calientes station (2000 meters above sea level) where a transfer will be waiting for us to help us board the bus; the bus will take us on a 30 minute journey, ascending along a zigzag path, towards the sanctuary of Machu Picchu. The tour includes a guided tour of the Citadel of approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, visiting the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the royal rooms, the Temple of the Three Windows and the cemeteries. At the indicated time, you must descend from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes by bus or walk so you can have lunch in peace and board the return train to Ollantaytambo (2 hours by train), where our transportation to Cusco (2 hours) will await us.
