    Overview

The ascent to La Puerta del Sol is always available and accesible. It is a pleasant place with a nice view of Machu Picchu. You can take this walk on you free time.

If you prefer to climb up Huayna Picchu you will have an spectacular view, but this should be reserved a long time in advance and the cost of it is 25 US$ per person.

It is an hour and a half climb up of moderated difficulty.

Another option is Machu Picchu Montania, an hour and a half very steep, very physically demanding ascent and the cost of it is 15 US$ per person. This is probably the most spectacular view, but the three options are very enjoyable and will allow you to take good photos.

Students with valid international student card will have to show their student card at the time of making their reservation or to our staff.

People under 17 years old will have to show an original passport or ID at the time of making their reservation.

    Itinerary

Day 1 : SANTA MARIA (OPTIONAL RAFTING)

Pick-up 6:30 a.m. We will leave the Imperial City of Cusco to head towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We continue the trip in the direction to the Malaga Open (4 350 masl), the starting point of the bike tour. After the safety talk and correct use of the guide’s bicycle, the complete bicycle equipment will be provided.

We will begin the descent by bicycle for an average of three hours (55 km), until we reach the town of Huamanmarca. During the trip we will be able to appreciate the imposing snowcaps and the tropical forest – where the Peruvian Amazon begins -, crossing small streams and enjoying the high jungle. During the trip we will have the support of our ambulance rescue car.

During the journey there will be several stops to rest and check our equipment. We will arrive at the town of Santa María (1,200 meters above sea level) at about 2 pm where we will have our lunch. There, we will rest in our own hotel where we have private hot water bath, wifi and sauna.

In the afternoon, we have the option of rafting on the Vilcanota River (US $ 30 per person). This river offers us category III and III + rapids.

For this activity we will give you a helmet, windbreaker and life jacket, and we will raft for an average of 1:15 hr in the wáter, sailing continuous rapids. At the end we will have our own shower camp and hot bath, a reception room where the bar is located and of course the sauna to counteract the cold of the river. (D, A, C / Hotel).

    Day 2 :SANTA TERESA

After breakfast, we embark by car for 15 minutes and start the first day of trekking on the way to Santa Teresa.

The first two hours of our tour will be on the rise. On the way we will have several stops to learn a little more about the flora and fauna of the area.

During the walk we will stop at the house of a local family, where we will learn a little more about their local customs and traditions and the way in which they live from their products such as coffee and cocoa. Later we will walk a section of the Inca Trail that was formerly part of the royal road – Qapacc ñan – that was part of the Inca trail network.

Then we will descend to the town of Quellomayo, where we will enjoy our lunch and get some rest before we continue the walk.

In the afternoon, we will continue with the last two hours of walking towards the thermal baths of Cocalmayo, where we will have plenty of time to enjoy one of the best thermal baths in the south of Peru. (D, A and C / Hotel).

Day 3 : (OPTIONAL ZIP LINE)

We will start in the morning with the Zip line activity. This activity is optional and lasts approximately two hours.

Then we will have a transport to the Hydroelectric station, to continue our trip, to enter the Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary.

From the Hydroelectric station, we will begin our walk to the town of Aguas Calientes.

We will finish the walk in the town of Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the third night. (D, A and C / Hotel).

    Day 4:MACHUPICCHU

This is the most important day of the tour to know one of the seven wonders of the world. The tour will start very early, to appreciate the sunrise in the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.

Our day will begin with the option of walking or taking the bus (US $ 12). Once inside the archaeological park, the guide will provide you with a two-hour tour.

Then you will be free to explore Machu Picchu or Wayna Picchu.

In the afternoon you return to Aguas Calientes to take the train back to Ollantaytambo or Cusco.
